Sex crime reports and arrests in Berkeley

Police arrested Wilmer Guerra Peña, 28, on suspicion of kidnapping to commit a sex crime, assault with intent to commit rape and other crimes.

SVU investigators are trying to find the victim, a teenage girl, in one case and the location captured in a photograph in another.

Randall Alston, a one-time murder suspect, was charged with groping a woman in Berkeley in March and then released on his own recognizance.

BPD says investigators hope to find two good Samaritans who helped the victim, a 21-year-old woman who was attacked on her scooter.

Police say Lamonte Campbell walked around the counter and grabbed the woman tightly from behind, touching her private areas.

Javier Castellanos-Herrera was charged with eight felonies, including the continuous sexual abuse of a child.

At least two of the women who were accosted were UC Berkeley students and one had recently graduated, police said.
