Fire tears through East Bay Media Center overnight
BFD found 20- to 30-foot flames breaching the roof, “touching adjacent buildings [and] threatening to engulf the surrounding structures.”

Man struck by Amtrak train in Berkeley
BFD rushed the patient to Highland Hospital with a “Code 3” trauma activation, authorities said.

Update: Suspicious item was not a bomb, Berkeley police say
Officers found the item in the area of Sunday morning’s police shooting, which left a man in critical condition.
