Police say David Hobbs jumped into the victim’s passenger seat and got on top of him, then began to strangle him, after the man opened his car door.

Teen stabbed in Berkeley, assailants flee on scooters
The victim told police he had been stabbed near the shoulder and could not feel his hand, according to emergency dispatches.

Berkeley robbery detectives make 3 arrests in ‘major cases’
The same suspects were linked to “related cases” in nearby jurisdictions, BPD said Thursday.
