Two short news stories today: A Berkeley resident who police say took a man's skateboard and attacked him with it has been charged with a felony this week, court papers show.

According to police, the skateboarder was riding home when Mark Buckingham blocked his way and attacked him.

Also, two people in masks took more than 100 cartons of cigarettes from the owner of a Berkeley gas station during a robbery Tuesday evening, authorities report.

Police say they have not determined whether the robbers followed the owner to his gas station on Solano Avenue. The investigation is ongoing.
