A death investigation began Friday night in Berkeley after authorities discovered a body outside while extinguishing a small blaze on Fifth Street.

Police said it's too soon to know whether the death was suspicious.

A caller told police the shooter was a white woman with facial piercings and neck tattoos who fired the gun in an apartment on Addison Street.
