Update: Woman, 30, arrested after New Year's Eve gunfire
A caller told police the shooter was a white woman with facial piercings and neck tattoos who fired the gun in an apartment on Addison Street.
Update, Jan. 3: The woman who was arrested on suspicion of firing a gun in Berkeley on New Year's Eve has been identified as 30-year-old Amanda Ingram.

She was arrested on suspicion of discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner that could result in injury or death, according to jail records.
Ingram is now in custody at Santa Rita Jail with a bail of $50,000. She is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday at Wiley Manuel Courthouse.

Update, Jan. 2: BPD later determined that the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. It was not reported until nearly 2 a.m. Jan. 1.
Original story, Jan. 1: A Berkeley woman in her 30s was detained early Wednesday morning after the first confirmed gunfire report of the year.
Berkeley police were called to investigate the shooting report shortly before 2 a.m. in the 600 block of Addison Street in West Berkeley.
A caller advised officers that the woman had fired the gun into the floor during an argument with her boyfriend but that no one had been hurt.
The shooter was described as a white woman with facial piercings and neck tattoos who had fired the gun in an apartment at Avalon Berkeley, a large complex at 651 Addison St.
After officers detained the woman, at about 2:10 a.m., they seized two firearms from the scene, authorities said Wednesday.
No further details about the woman were available as of publication time due to a pending medical assessment.
