TBS Today, Dec. 18
Two stories for you today, along with some of my photos of Berkeley in the fog, a crime tidbit from the Lawrence Hall of Science and a quick shout-out to Keith Carson, who is retiring after 32 years as an Alameda County supervisor.
In other news
Monday night, the fog descended over Berkeley. We drove around town and captured a few shots.
Yesterday we spent the afternoon in the Board of Supervisors chamber to see Keith Carson's final meeting.
He's been on the board for 32 years, which is a record in Alameda County. He's among the longest-serving supervisors in the state. We're planning to write something about him this week.
We also took a walk around the René C. Davidson Courthouse in Oakland — where signage for Pamela Price remains in place in some places but has been removed in others.
We don't expect many updates on next steps in that process until January.
Last night, UCPD arrested three young men — ages 19, 20 and 21, and from Berkeley, Richmond and Albany — after getting a report of a possible carjacking in the Lawrence Hall of Science parking lot at about 11 p.m.
Two of them have bailed out but one, Peyton Grover, remains in custody at Santa Rita Jail with a listed bail of $250,000 on suspicion of robbery and attempted carjacking, according to jail records.
We'll try to learn more.
Add local public safety photos or other notable local pics to our Flickr pool. We'd love to connect!
