Authorities are investigating several reports of gunfire near the UC Berkeley campus early Saturday morning.

A community member flagged down an officer at about 12:10 a.m. to say he'd seen someone fire a gun into the air, according to radio dispatches reviewed by The Scanner.
About 10 minutes later, UC Berkeley's ShotSpotter system picked up the sound of gunfire in several locations near campus: in the 2200 block of Bancroft Way, the 2200 block of Fulton Street and the 2200 block of University Avenue.

The University of California Police Department said in a WarnMe alert that UC Berkeley's ShotSpotter system "had several singular activations south of the UC campus, moving westbound away from campus" at about 12:20 a.m.
One person told police she heard four shots, according to emergency radio traffic.
The investigation is ongoing, but UC Berkeley police reported over the radio that they found possible evidence of gunfire at Fulton and Kittredge streets and other locations, including Blackwell Hall at 2401 Durant Ave. where a bullet reportedly went through the drywall.

Shortly before 12:45 a.m., one person told police he saw two vehicles heading north on Sutter Street as a passenger fired a gun into the air, according to radio traffic.
The Scanner has asked police for more information and will update this story if it is provided.
As of Oct. 26, Berkeley has had 24 shootings leaving three dead and seven wounded.
