You may recall the pistol-whipping of a Berkeley High student we reported last week.

Berkeley High student pistol-whipped after school
Police flooded the downtown area and did a thorough search for the assailant but they were unable to find him.

On Friday, BPD Youth Services detectives arrested a 15-year-old Oakland boy in connection with the case on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon on school grounds and being a minor in possession of a concealed weapon. No additional information was available due to privacy laws that protect minors.

Also: The Alameda County coroner's office has identified the man whose body was found near Codornices Park last week as 21-year-old Christopher Zimmerman of Berkeley. The case is still open so no further information was available.

Firefighters quickly determined that it was a coroner’s case requiring a body recovery from the ravine.

When we were reporting that story, a reader asked whether a man whose body was found in the Berkeley Hills in April had been identified.

The coroner's office did identify him as 60-year-old Lenard Andrus. His family posted a GoFundMe page and KTVU had a story in late April.
