Police investigate non-injury shooting in South Berkeley

BPD responded to Sacramento and Prince streets after getting a report about two men arguing.

Authorities are investigating an argument that led to gunfire in South Berkeley on Tuesday shortly before noon.

Just after 11:10 a.m., Berkeley police responded to Sacramento and Prince streets after getting a report about two men arguing in the area.

One of the men had a gun and callers reported hearing the sound of gunfire after the fight.

When officers arrived, they found no victims and the men had left.

The incident likely took place on Prince Street just east of Sacramento Street, BPD said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Berkeley has had more than 20 other shootings this year, leaving three people dead and six wounded.
