Some breaking news just now: Three people have been detained following a violent robbery near UC Berkeley in which a man holding a baby was reportedly pistol-whipped, according to preliminary information.
Many thanks to the readers who flagged us on today's robbery. We love your tips! We're still hoping to learn more.
Last night, we published a story on how Alameda County plans to proceed with the recall election of DA Pamela Price.
Here's what we know.
One note: The ROV told supervisors during the meeting that the election could be held as soon as July 30.
We learned after publication that, based on the adopted schedule for the upcoming vote to set the election date, the earliest it could happen is Aug. 13. We updated the story with that info.
We also heard from a few diligent readers last night that links weren't working in our last newsletter for a period of time. That was due to an issue with our host, Ghost, which fixed the problem shortly before midnight.
We'll share those links again in case you missed our recent stories.
Fortunately, the website itself was never down. Bookmark berkeleyscanner.com to stay in the loop.
