Intruder fires gun during event Sunday morning in Berkeley
The interloper had been asked to leave after displaying aggressive behavior, Berkeley police said.
An uninvited guest who was asked to leave a gathering Sunday morning at a southwest Berkeley home came back with a gun and shot into an unoccupied vehicle, authorities said.
Police said the incident happened shortly before 9:40 a.m. in the 2900 block of Stanton Street between Russell Street and Ashby Avenue.
The intruder had been asked to leave after displaying aggressive behavior, Berkeley police said in response to a Scanner inquiry.

He came back "wielding a firearm," police said, and fired through the rear windshield of a vehicle parked nearby before driving off.
No one was hurt, but BPD said the department "has initiated a thorough investigation into the matter."
As of April 8, Berkeley has had 13 shootings in 2024 with six people wounded.
Last year at this time, six shootings had left one man wounded.
