TBS Today, Dec. 8
Thank goodness it's Friday. It's been another long week. But exciting!
On Wednesday, we got to speak to a class of Mills College students about our First Amendment fight and The Scanner in general.
Then, on Thursday night, we were honored to have a moment to address a room full of award-winning journalists to bring them up to speed on the media access situation and talk about the critical work of the First Amendment Coalition and SPJ NorCal.
We saw many old friends and met some new ones, too. There was high interest in our story. It was an awesome night.
If you'd like to read up on award-winning local journalism from the past year, you can do so on the SPJ NorCal website. And we highly recommend the First Amendment Coalition if you're looking to make a more general end-of-year contribution.
We still have LOTS of thank-you notes to send for all your kind words and support. Barring breaking news, that will happen this weekend.
Speaking of catch-up, there's still a lot to do concerning last week's First Amendment dust-up. A number of things are in motion, including more reporting and other advocacy efforts.
In other news, by popular demand, we're trying to do a bit of posting on Threads. We'll see how that turns out.
Now onto the news.
