Gunfire near UC Berkeley prompts WarnMe alert
Authorities said gunfire broke out during a conflict between the occupants of two vehicles near College and Derby on Monday at about 7:45 p.m.
Berkeley police responded to gunfire Monday night about a half-mile from the UC Berkeley campus.
No one was hurt, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.

Everyone was gone when officers got to the scene, Berkeley police said.

Officers found evidence of gunfire and blocked the area for a period of time during the investigation.
As of Oct. 30, Berkeley has had 30 shootings in 2023 with seven people wounded. BPD also had a fatal police shooting in Albany.
UCPD sent out a WarnMe alert about the shooting just after 9:15 p.m.
