Berkeley police seek driver who struck cyclist, fled scene
Witnesses said the motorist who struck the cyclist was driving a white sedan, BPD said.
Police in Berkeley are looking for a motorist who drove away after rear-ending a cyclist earlier this week, sending her to the hospital with moderate injuries, authorities report.
The collision happened Monday shortly before 8:40 p.m. at Shattuck Avenue and Woolsey Street in South Berkeley, the Berkeley Police Department said.
According to police, the cyclist — a 33-year-old Kensington woman — sustained injuries to her face and legs when the driver struck her.
The cyclist had been northbound on Shattuck waiting to turn left onto Woolsey when a northbound driver struck her from behind, BPD said.
Witnesses said the motorist who struck the cyclist was driving a white sedan, BPD said.
The Berkeley Police Department asks anyone with information about the hit-and-run collision to call BPD at 510-981-5900.
